MEDICOLEGAL REPORTS

CONCLAVES

Significant time often passes between the writing of the report and attendance at conclave. Therefore, the documentation is reviewed thoroughly and understandings refreshed clearly beforehand. Conclaves are attended either in person or by teleconference, according to the needs of the client. Careful attention is given to each question posed at the conclave.

Finalisation of the jointly agreed document is completed and signed off promptly.

APPEARANCE AT COURT

A/Prof. Peter Clyne is an authoritative, credible, general practitioner peer expert witness who responds authoritatively to his report, articulates clearly, precisely and in language that can be understood by the court.

After a detailed and thorough examination of the documentation, a detailed report is written based upon the Assumptions and the evidence of the records in accordance with the generally accepted standards of care of a peer general practitioner.

Reports are presented in the following format:

  • The Assumptions are re-stated.

  • Any principles of medicine required to understand the rationale of the report are explained as Background Information in simple but accurate terms.

  • The Chronology of Events is tabulated.

  • An Analysis follows, bringing together the Assumptions, Chronology and relevant medical science from the Background Information.

  • Breaches are identified and highlighted throughout the Analysis.

  • An Opinion is given for each of the questions specifically asked, supported by the rationale of the Analysis.

  • References to support the Background Information Analysis, as required, are listed in standard format within a Bibliography at the end of the report.

  • A current Curriculum Vitae is attached to each report.

Supplementary reports are written as requested. Report completion dates are prioritised according to urgency to fit in with clients' needs.

A selection of redacted reports is available on request.
